Visa Electron
The Visa Electron card was first introduced in the 1980s by VISA. It is basically the same as a standard Visa Debit or Visa credit card though there are some differences. What is interesting about the Visa Electron is that it is issued as either a debit or a credit card depending on the region or the bank which issues it. The next biggest difference about the Visa Electron and other VISA cards is that the user must have all funds available when making a transfer. This is regardless of whether the card is being used as a credit card or debit card. Because of this, when applying for the Visa Electron, the applicant must provide proof of some sort of regular income or of financial assets. The Visa Debit card does allow its users to use unavailable funds to a certain limit. Whenever a purchase is made with the Visa Electron, the Visa Electron company makes the payment and the cardholder is under obligation to pay the amount of the purchase. When the transaction is made, the Visa Electron card system will check to see if the holder has enough funds to make the transaction. The purchase will not go through until all the criteria has been checked electronically.
The biggest advantage to the Visa Electron card is that there is a very small fee for fund interchanges. Many merchants that charge fees for a credit or debit card do not charge any fees for the Visa Electron. Because cardholders cannot spend money which is not already in their account, there is no risk of overspending. This also means that many people qualify for the Visa Electron who would not normally qualify for a different credit card. A great benefit for Visa Electron card holders who gamble online is that they can also usually make withdrawals and deposits onto their card. This means that balancing your fund is much easier because of the one banking system. There are many drawbacks to the Visa Electron card though. The first is that it is not available to people from Australia, Canada and the United States as well as some other countries. Cardholders will also find that the card is not accepted as widely as other debit and credit cards because it must be verified electronically. There are many online casinos which accept the Visa Electron card as a form of payment though. Just because it is a form of possible payment, that does not always mean that the card will go through. Many credit cards are set up to automatically deny any charges coming from online gambling sites. Even if the Visa Electron card is issued as a debit card, this can still be a problem. It is sometimes better to have a backup payment plan in case your favorite casino does not accept Visa Electron. We have compiled a list of online casinos which accept Visa Electron as a banking option.
